Strawberry popsicles

I can´t  explain exactly why but today´s post  makes me feel a little like Martha Stewart :D  or Martha Stewart´s apprentice at least  :D

When I got the idea of starting a blog it was clear to me that it should have two foundations in its philosophy:
everything should be as natural as possible, hence the theme of the blog `Don´t put on your skin what you would never put on your plate´
everything should be very easy to prepare, simple and with minimum ingredients possible 


No os sé explicar exactamente por qué pero publicar la receta de hoy me hace sentir un poco Martha Stewart :D o aprendiz de Martha Stewart al menos :D

En fin, cuando se me ocurrió llevar adelante un blog quería que tuviera dos pilares fundamentales en su filosofía de ser:

que todo fuese lo más natural posible, de ahí el lema del blog "no pongas en tu piel lo que nunca pondrías en tu plato"
 que todo fuese muy sencillo de preparar, simple y con los mínimos ingredientes posibleTenía muchas ganas de compartir este post porque, al menos aquí en Valencia, ya hace un calor horroroso y además estamos en temporada de fresas, así que no tenéis excusa para no probar esta receta, que además, como decía antes, no puede ser más sencilla y hasta la pueden preparar los niños, así que si tenéis algún masterchef junior por casa, ponedlo manos a la obra!

Lo que más me gustó de esta receta es que sólo lleva 3 ingredientes mezclados y congelados, no hay más! Y además la textura, con un sencillo truco que os comentaré, no es cristalizada sino apenas crujiente, pero suave y tierna. Es una explosión de sabor y texturas al morder!

Vamos a la receta!

Polos de fresa

Ingredientes:

3 tazas de fresas cortadas

6 cdas de azúcar

1 cda de zumo de limón

Preparación:

Con esta receta salen 8 polos (medianos).

Vamos a triturar sólo un poco (sin que se deshagan del todo) una taza de fresas.

Reservamos.

Trituramos ahora las otras 2 tazas de fresas con el azúcar y el zumo de limón. 

Mezclamos todo y vertemos en moldes de polos, si no tenéis podéis utilizar vasitos de plástico, o cualquier molde que os guste su forma. Si váis a utilizar vasitos de plástico, podéis cubrirlos con film y pinchar un palito para que se sujete y quede erguido al congelar.

Llevamos al congelador. Es mejor dejarlo unas cuantas horas (no hagáis como yo que soy impaciente).

Para desmoldar, si el molde es rígido pondremos unos instantes bajo del grifo y el polo se desprenderá fácilmente. Si el molde es de silicona, no tendremos ninguna dificultad.

Os puedo asegurar que esta técnica de triturar un poco menos una parte de las fresas aporta una textura increíble, y el sabor es delicioso!

I really wanted to share this post because, at least here in Valencia, days have become horribly stuffy. Besides, we also are in strawberry season, so it´s a perfect time  to prepare  this recipe, which, as I said before, it can´t  be easier and it´s a good chance to be made by children, so if you have any junior masterchef at home, put him to work!
What I like about this recipe is that it only takes 3 ingredients mixed and frozen, nothing else! And its soft texture, not crystallized at all but just crunchy, yet soft and tender. It is an explosion of flavors and textures in your mouth!
Let´s go to the recipe!

Strawberry popsicles
Ingredients:
3 cups ripe fresh ??strawberries (sliced)
6 Tbsp sugar
1  Tbsp lemon juice
Preparation:
This recipe makes 8 (medium size) popsicles 
In a blender, place only one cup of strawberries, and blend on lowest setting, don´t blend too much only until small pieces of strawberries are still visible. Set aside.
Now blend the remaining 2 cups of strawberries with sugar and lemon juice.
Combine  everything and pour into popsicle molds,  you can also use plastic cups, or any ice cube tray you have handy. If you´re  using plastic cups, you can put some plastic wrap film over the top of your mold and punch a stick through, creating a small hole that is just the right size to keep the stick standing
Place in the freezer for a few hours.
To unmold the finished popsicles, run warm water over the outside of the mold until the handle can be easily pulled out of the mold or set the molds or cups in warm water for a few seconds.
I can tell you that this tip of keeping a portion of semi-blended strawberries provides the popsicles an incredible texture, and the taste is so delicious!
