Wine and art are for me the best match but when combined with nature, they are even better. Last weekend I went to the Winter Sculpture Fair which is a festival of contemporary art mixed with the best food and wine in the country.
My friend Letisha bought me the tickets 2 months ago as a present and I am so glad that she invited me otherwise I would have missed this event as Johannesburg has so many social activities every weekend.

El vino y el arte son para mi el mejor complemento pero si son combinados con la naturaleza, es incluso más perfecto. El fin de semana pasado fui al Winter Sculpture Fair, un festival de arte contemporáneo acompañado con la mejor comida y vino del país. Mi amiga Letisha me compró los tiquetes hace dos meses como regalo y me siento feliz de esta invitación, de lo contrario me hubiese perdido de este evento puesto que Johannesburgo tiene muchas actividades sociales cada fin de semana.
The event was held at Nirox Sculpture Park which is a very beautiful outdoor venue just 30 minutes outside Johannesburg. From the moment we arrived, we were fascinated with the landscapes and the exuberant nature of this place.

El evento se realizó en Nirox Sculpture Park, un parque precioso al aire libre que sólo queda a 30 minutos de Johannesburgo. Desde el momento que llegamos, estuvimos fascinadas con los paisajes y la naturaleza tan exhuberante de este lugar.
After walking around, we decided to eat. Our choice was from Paulina"s Restaurant which was Pita Falafel with a Dip of Lentil Hummus and crackers. This was so yummy and we paired it with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc of Rickety Bridge Winery, what a great selection!. We sat in a big table where suddenly everybody who was sitting around ended up talking with us about wine, food and different stuff, like old friends :)

Después de caminar un rato por los alrededores, decidimos comer, escogimos el restaurante Paulina que tenía como plato Pita de Falafel acompañada por un dip de Hummus de Lentejas con tostadas. Este plato estaba muy deli, lo acompañamos con una copa de Sauvignon Blanc de el viñedo Rickery Bridge, que buena elección! Luego nos sentamos en una mesa enorme en la cual todos los que estaban sentados cerca terminaron hablando con nosotras sobre vino, comidas y otras cosas, como si fueran viejos amigos :)
After eating and trying other wines, we walked around to see the sculptures in the open field and then the art exhibition in the gallery.

Después de comer y probar deleitarnos con diferentes vinos, estuvimos caminando viendo las esculturas que estaban en el campo y luego la exhibición de arte en la galeria.

At the gallery, I couldn"t resist to ask this woman if I could take a picture of her, I found her type of beauty so natural and unique.

En la galeria no pude resistirme y le pregunté a esta mujer si podía tomarle una foto, su tipo de belleza me pareció muy natural y único.
At the end, we sat in front of one of the lakes to catch up while enjoying a cheese platter and watching the african sunset.

Al final, nos sentamos al frente de uno de los lagos a hablar disfrutando de un plato de quesos mientras veíamos el atardecer africano.
