This year I wanted to do something different and fun and new, so I set myself to travel to a few of the emerging fashion weeks in the world and see what is going on in those places. I think we all know what goes on in Paris or NY it’s all over the place, and everyone and there mother can register as press, pay the fee and go, and even though the main appeal is in the quality of the designers, it looses it’s appeal every year more, because it has lost its real meaning and become more about what some people outside the shows are wearing. Yes it’s good bloggers are being taken in account each day more, but it’s all about the editors, and the clowns, the ones who prepare a costume to be worn for thirty minutes and then change, so it’s not real outfits you get to see at the end. Yes there are some exceptions like Emmanuelle Alt and some few more, who keep it real, and are always in a down to earth mode, but it still is a bit sad, it is less about the designer and more about some individuals.

Now don’t get me wrong of course i’d love to see Chanel in a good seat, but just to hang out outside like most do, I don’t know, it’s not something appealing to me. So until that happens I decided to put all my interest in the emerging fashion weeks, those nobody really talks about, those who have great potential, and where you can get a good front or second row seat and watch the show comfortably, really taking into account what the designer is showing, and where the people attending are not really so much about posing, but more into discovering new talents.

I started with LAFW because well I have ties to LA, and I have some things to do here anyway so it seemed like a good opportunity. It does have a different modus operandi than any of the fashion weeks I’ve been to have, because you have a number of different producers who host a different version of the event, with different designers in different places. You have L.A Fashion Council, Art Hearts Fashion and Concept Los Angeles.

I attended L.A Fashion Council shows at Maker City, and even though some shows were awesome, some were terribly disappointing. Today I will talk to you about one of the ones that I really loved. Luckily since these are all emerging designers there is a showroom after the shows where you get to see the clothes closely, touch them and really appreciate them so in this case I took the pictures at the showroom, and because well…I am horrible taking pictures in motion, after all I am not a photographer.

I did get the chance to take better pictures of some other shows so I will show you those as well.

Rose LaGrua I loved her collection, it is so down to earth, feminine, and minimal but in a sweet, dreamy way (if that makes sense). Some of the garments remind me of Isabel Marant, they are wearable and versatile which is always good. I do feel the collection has a more spring summer feel than winter, but then we are in L.A and winter is non existent, so it works for here.

—————————————————————————————————————————-

HOLIDAYS 2015: OUTFIT 7

Last outfit from my trip to Chile (and last of the year). I am now back in Madrid and will be heading to the mountains tomorrow, to spend the last and first days of the new year. I am thrilled to be back home, winter is beautiful and I am ready to enjoy it! This outfit is what I wore for Christmas Eve. Since I was doing a lot of help in the kitchen and due to the heat in Santiago I decided to go f ...

WINTER 2017: OUTFIT 2

An outfit I wore while on the countryside last week. I am becoming such a big fan of leaving the city on weekends and just breathe fresh air, and peace everywhere. We are lucky to have a place to go to, whenever we feel like it, and even though it is in the countryside it’s location is amazing to explore the whole region. There are numbers of towns and cities so close by that deserve a visit ...

WINTER 2016/2017: OUTFIT 1

Last outfit of the year! This pictures were actually taken the 24th, is what I actually wore for Christmas Eve. I spent the day doing some last minute gift and food shopping and then we headed to my in-laws and had the most amazing dinner there. I wanted to wear something comfortable, cozy and casual but not too casual so this is what I came up with. My favorite skirt with a black turtleneck, blac ...

Inspiration: Co Pre-Fall 2015

I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend! I sure did it was just fantastic to disconnect a little bit and relax. Pre-fall collections are popping up as we speak, and I am in love with so many of them! Of course minimalism is a trend now and unfortunately it does not make any designer (or person) following it currently be actually a firm believer or trusted ambassador of what in my opinion is mo ...

Ten Essential Black Garments for Fall

Black is the most versatile color and one of my favorites. It is classic, austere but most of all it is practical, and therefore it tends to be in everyone’s closet. In some much more, in others not so much, but no matter how you feel about it, when the cold arrives we all tend to embrace it. That’s why today I made a selection of ten fall essentials in this color: black. —— ...

Store of The Week: Acne Studios L.A store

One of my must visit stores in L.A has to be Acne Studios. Unlike all the other stores in it’s category it is located downtown, which is very unusual, as all labels in its line have their stores in Melrose or Beverly Hills. This to me is a wonderful, fabulous move, because in first place it will bring more stores to this area (which lacks, luxury and contemporary shopping spaces) and because ...

FALL 2015: OUTFIT 3

Please excuse me for the awful quality of these pictures. My old photographer (ex-boyfriend) and I are no longer together. Not that I need to tell you about my personal life, but I do feel I need to explain why I am not updating my website as frequently. To be honest this happened a long time ago, but thanks to all my traveling this past year and my family and friends I was able to manage for quit ...

FALL 2016: OUTFIT 20

Another all black outfit! I wore a similar outfit a few weeks ago, basically the same with different trousers. Even though I never repeat an outfit, I do wear similar stuff constantly because I do have different versions of the same things. Like black trousers, and black coats, etc. Even if the shape and cut is different I stick to what I love. In this case I am wearing skinny corduroy jeans vs fr ...

FALL 2016: OUTFIT 21

Foggy mornings and sunny afternoons is what we are getting lately, so I am making the most of those sunny hours in what is still a fall outfit, because winter is coming soon! I went for a layered monochrome ensemble in different shades of grey! I would have gone for boots but weather was nice, so I decided to take my Gucci babies out, probably one last time before winter arrives! —— ...

Verano 2016: outfit 17

San Francisco outfit. Our trip started in L.A and ended in L.A, but we toured Nevada and California, and just at the middle of our trip we were in San Francisco. I had been here once as an early teen with my parents and I remembered most of it. What I had forgot though was the weather. How awesome and strange is S.F crazy weather? It’s what you would expect from Scandinavia, not California, ...
